Chapter 55: LEARNING SKILLFUL MEANS (4)
The Buddha said:
O Subhūti, as you have asked, if a Great Bodhisattva learns for the sake of the exhaustion of the perfection of giving, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If he learns for the sake of the exhaustion of the perfection of pure morality, patience, diligence, meditative absorption, and prajñā, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If a Great Bodhisattva learns for the sake of the detachment from the perfection of giving, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If he learns for the sake of the detachment from pure morality, patience, diligence, meditative absorption, and prajñā, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If a Great Bodhisattva learns for the sake of the elimination of the perfection of giving, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If he learns for the sake of the elimination of pure morality, patience, diligence, meditative absorption, and prajñā, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If a Great Bodhisattva learns for the sake of the non-arising of the perfection of giving, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If he learns for the sake of the non-arising of pure morality, patience, diligence, meditative absorption, and prajñā, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If a Great Bodhisattva learns for the sake of the non-ceasing of the perfection of giving, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If he learns for the sake of the non-ceasing of pure morality, patience, diligence, meditative absorption, and prajñā, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If a Great Bodhisattva learns for the sake of the primordial quiescence of the perfection of giving, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If he learns for the sake of the primordial quiescence of pure morality, patience, diligence, meditative absorption, and prajñā, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If a Great Bodhisattva learns for the sake of the inherent Nirvana-nature of the perfection of giving, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience? If he learns for the sake of the inherent Nirvana-nature of pure morality, patience, diligence, meditative absorption, and prajñā, is that learning the wisdom of omniscience?
O Subhūti, what do you think? Does the suchness of the perfection of giving have exhaustion, cessation, or severance?
Subhūti replied:
World-Honored One, no! Sugata, no!
The Buddha said:
O Subhūti, what do you think? Do the suchnesses of pure morality, patience, diligence, meditative absorption, and prajñā have exhaustion, cessation, or severance?

The Buddha said:
O Subhūti, if a Great Bodhisattva learns in this way regarding suchness, he is learning the wisdom of omniscience. If he learns for the sake of the self-nature Nirvana of the nature of always relinquishing, is he learning the wisdom of Omniscience? O Subhūti, what do you think? Does the Suchness of the dharma of not-forgetting have an end, cessation, or termination?
Subhūti replied:
World-Honored One, no! Sugata, no!
The Buddha taught:
