Dwelling in suchness without being separate from Prajñāpāramitā is entirely because it is gathered, upheld, and protected by Prajñāpāramitā. Dwelling in the Dharma realm, the nature of phenomena, the nature of non-delusion, the nature of non-change, the nature of equality, the nature of non-arising, the fixed nature of Dharma, the abiding nature of Dharma, ultimate reality, the realm of space, and the inconceivable realm without being separate from Prajñāpāramitā is entirely because it is gathered, upheld, and protected by Prajñāpāramitā. Cultivating the ten powers of the Buddha without being separate from Prajñāpāramitā is entirely because it is gathered, upheld, and protected by Prajñāpāramitā. Cultivating the four fearlessnesses, the four kinds of unobstructed understanding, and the eighteen exclusive qualities of a Buddha without being separate from Prajñāpāramitā is entirely because it is gathered, upheld, and protected by Prajñāpāramitā. Cultivating the nature of constant relinquishment without being separate from Prajñāpāramitā is entirely because it is gathered, upheld, and protected by Prajñāpāramitā. Cultivating omniscient wisdom without being separate from Prajñāpāramitā is entirely because it is gathered, upheld, and protected by Prajñāpāramitā. Cultivating the eighty subsidiary excellent characteristics without being separate from Prajñāpāramitā is entirely because it is gathered, upheld, and protected by Prajñāpāramitā.
O Subhūti, thus when a Great Bodhisattva practices Prajñāpāramitā, within the interval of a single moment of thought, they can fully gather the perfections of giving, pure discipline, patience, diligence, meditative concentration, and Prajñāpāramitā. The Venerable Subhūti said to the Buddha:
“World-Honored One, why is it that when a Great Bodhisattva practices Prajñāpāramitā, the activities they perform are not separate from Prajñāpāramitā and are always gathered, upheld, and protected by Prajñāpāramitā, so that within the interval of a single moment of thought, their mind can fully gather and uphold the perfections of giving, pure discipline, patience, diligence, meditative concentration, and Prajñāpāramitā?
