They are the foundation of mindfulness of the body, the foundation of mindfulness of feeling, the foundation of mindfulness of the mind, and the foundation of mindfulness of dharmas.

Subhūti, the foundation of mindfulness of the body is: when a Great Bodhisattva is cultivating the perfection of wisdom, taking non-attainment as the skillful means, although with respect to the inner body one abides contemplating the entire body, one ultimately does not give rise to discursive thought about the body, always being vigorous and energetic, fully equipped with mindfulness and clear comprehension, in order to restrain all greed and sorrow in the world. When Great Bodhisattvas are cultivating the perfection of wisdom, taking non-attainment as the skillful means, although with respect to the outer body one abides contemplating the entire body, one ultimately does not give rise to discursive thought about the body, always being vigorous and energetic, fully equipped with mindfulness and clear comprehension, in order to restrain all greed and sorrow in the world. When Great Bodhisattvas are cultivating the perfection of wisdom, taking non-attainment as the skillful means, although with respect to both the inner and outer body one abides contemplating the entire body, one ultimately does not give rise to discursive thought about the body, being vigorous and energetic, fully equipped with mindfulness and clear comprehension, in order to restrain all greed and sorrow in the world. Subhūti, the foundation of mindfulness of the mind is: when a Great Bodhisattva is cultivating the perfection of wisdom, taking non-attainment as the skillful means, although with respect to the inner mind one abides contemplating the entire mind, one ultimately does not give rise to discursive thought about the mind, being vigorous and energetic, fully equipped with mindfulness and clear comprehension, in order to restrain all greed and sorrow in the world. When Great Bodhisattvas are cultivating the perfection of wisdom, taking non-attainment as the skillful means, although with respect to the outer mind one abides contemplating the entire mind, one ultimately does not give rise to discursive thought about the mind, being vigorous and energetic, fully equipped with mindfulness and clear comprehension; in order to restrain all greed and sorrow in the world.
