World-Honored One, Bodhi, Sattva, and form… all dharmas are already unobtainable, yet one claims that form… and all dharmas themselves are the great Bodhisattva; or what is other than form… and all dharmas is the great Bodhisattva; or within form… and all dharmas there is a great Bodhisattva; or within the great Bodhisattva there is form… and all dharmas; or apart from form… and all dharmas there is a great Bodhisattva — this cannot be!
The Buddha said to Subhuti:
Excellent, excellent! Just so, just so, as you have said! Subhuti, because form… and all dharmas are unobtainable, the great Bodhisattva is also unobtainable; because the great Bodhisattva is unobtainable, the practice of the Prajnaparamita is also unobtainable. Subhuti, the great Bodhisattvas practicing the Prajnaparamita should learn in this way.
Furthermore, Subhuti, as for what is called “great Bodhisattva,” what do you think? Is the suchness of form itself the great Bodhisattva?
