Chapter 34: HARD TO BELIEVE AND UNDERSTAND (1)
He received Good Manifestation Devas also told the Buddha:
“Venerable World-Honored One, due to not being diligent, not yet cultivating wholesome roots, enough non-virtuous roots, is subjected to those of evil and evil knowledge, therefore with regard to Perfection of profound Wisdom and Buddha has already preached saying this, it is hard to understand.
The Buddha said: Hey Good Manifestation Devas, yes, yes! As you have said, not being diligently diligent, not yet cultivating wholesome roots, enough non-virtuous roots, is subjected to those of evil and dominant knowledge, therefore with regard to Perfection of profound Wisdom and Buddha has already preached saying this, it is difficult to understand.
He received Good Manifestation Devas also said to the Buddha: Perfection of Wisdom those profound as such who and hard to believe, hard to understand
The Buddha said: Hey Good Manifestation Devas, form is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because form does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of form. Feelings, thoughts, actions, and consciousness are not bound or open. Because why? Because feeling, perception, formations, consciousness does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of feeling, perception, formations, consciousness.
The origin label is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because eye-base does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of eye-base. The ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are not bound or open. Because why? Because ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind-bases do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind-bases.
The origin of form is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because form-base does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of form-base. Sound, smell, taste, touch, the origin of dharma is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because sound, scent, taste, tangible, and dharma-bases do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of sound, scent, taste, tangible, and dharma-bases.
The eye is not forced, it is not open. Because why? Because eye-element does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of eye-element. form realm, eye-consciousness-element and eye-contact together with the feelings arising from eye-contact as conditions is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because form precept through to the feeling due to eye-contact causing arises as conditions does not have the nature of possession, there is the inherent nature of form precept through to the feeling due to eye-contact causing arising as conditions. The ear is not forced, it is not open. Because why? Because ear-element does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of ear-element. The ear-consciousness-element and ear-contact together with the feelings arising from ear-contact as conditions is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because sound-element through to the feelings arising from ear-contact as conditions does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of sound-element through to the feelings arising from ear-contact as conditions.
The precepts are not forced, not open. Because why? Because nose-element does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of nose-element. Fragrance realm, nose-consciousness-element and nose-contact together with the feelings arising from nose-contact as conditions are not forced, is not open. Because why? Because scent-element through to the feelings arising from nose-contact as conditions does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of scent-element through to the feelings arising from nose-contact as conditions.
The world is not binding, it is not open. Because why? Because tongue-element does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of tongue-element. Gender, tongue-consciousness-element and tongue-contact together with the feelings arising from tongue-contact as conditions is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because taste-element through to the feelings arising from tongue-contact as conditions does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of taste-element through to the feelings arising from tongue-contact as conditions.
The body world is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because body-element does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of body-element. The sense of touch, body-consciousness-element and body-contact together with the feelings arising from body-contact as conditions is not binding, is not open. Because why? Because tangible-element through to the feelings arising from body-contact as conditions does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of tangible-element through to the feelings arising from body-contact as conditions.
The world of mind is not binding, it is not open. Because why? Because mind-element does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of mind-element. Dharma world, mind-consciousness-element and mind-contact together with the feelings arising from mind-contact as conditions are not forced, is not open. Because why? Because dharma-element through to the feelings arising from mind-contact as conditions does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of dharma-element through to the feelings arising from mind-contact as conditions.
The realm is not bound, it is not open. Because why? Because earth-element does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of earth-element. Water, fire, wind, khyou, the world of consciousness is not bound, is not open. Because why? Because water, fire, wind, space, and consciousness-elements do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of water, fire, wind, space, and consciousness-elements.
Ignorance is not binding, it is not open. Because why? Because ignorance does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of ignorance. Actions, consciousness, name form, six sense bases, contact, feeling, craving, grasping, existence, birth, old age and death, sorrow, suffering and grief are not bound, not open. Because why? Because formations, consciousness through to birth, aging-and-death, sorrow-lamentation-suffering-dejection-distress do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of formations through to aging-and-death, sorrow-lamentation-suffering-dejection-distress.
Perfection of Generosity is not binding, it is not open. Because why? Because Perfection of Generosity does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Perfection of Generosity. Pure Precepts, Patient Endurance, Diligent Effort, Meditative Concentration, Perfection of Wisdom are not forced, are not open. Because why? Because Pure Precepts through to Perfection of Wisdom does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Pure Precepts through to Perfection of Wisdom.
French not within is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because internal emptiness does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of internal emptiness. Dharma not external, emptiness of both internal and external, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, emptiness of conditioned phenomena, emptiness of unconditioned phenomena, emptiness of finality, limitless emptiness, emptiness of dispersion, unchanging emptiness, emptiness of original nature, emptiness of individual characteristics, emptiness of shared characteristics, emptiness of all phenomena, emptiness of non-apprehensibility, emptiness of non-nature, emptiness of self-nature, emptiness of non-nature-self-nature is not binding, is not open. Because why? Because external emptiness through to emptiness of non-nature-self-nature does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of external emptiness through to emptiness of non-nature-self-nature.
The legs are not tied, not open. Because why? Because true suchness does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of true suchness. Dharma gender, dharma-nature, nature of non-falsity, nature of non-alteration, nature of equality, nature dissociated from birth, dharma-fixity, dharma-abiding, reality-limit, realm of space, inconceivable realm is not binding, is not open. Because why? Because dharma-realm through to the inconceivable realm does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of dharma-realm through to the inconceivable realm.
Noble Truth of Suffering is not binding, it is not open. Because why? Because Noble Truth of Suffering does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Noble Truth of Suffering. Noble Truths of Arising, Cessation, and the Path are not binding, not open. Because why? Because Noble Truths of Arising, Cessation, and the Path does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Noble Truths of Arising, Cessation, and the Path.
Four Meditative Concentration is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because four Meditative Concentration does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of four Meditative Concentration. Four Formless Concentrations are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because four Immeasurables, four Formless Concentrations does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of four Immeasurables, four Formless Concentrations.
The Eight Liberations are not forced, not opened. Because why? Because eight Liberations does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of eight Liberations. Tam Thang Origin, nine Sequential Concentrations, ten Totalities are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because eight Bases of Mastery, nine Sequential Concentrations, ten Totalities does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of eight Bases of Mastery, nine Sequential Concentrations, ten Totalities.
The Four Mindfulness abides in is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because four Niems residing in does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of four Niems residing in. Four True Stages, four Bases of Supernatural Power, five Spiritual Faculties, five Powers, seven Factors of Enlightenment, eight-fold Noble Path is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because four Right Efforts through to eight-fold Noble Path does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of four Right Efforts through to eight-fold Noble Path.
Dharma gateways to liberate Khyou are not forced, are not opened. Because why? Because Liberation Gateway of Emptiness does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Liberation Gateway of Emptiness. Dharma gateways liberate Signlessness, Wishlessness is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because Liberation Gateway of Signlessness, Wishlessness does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Liberation Gateway of Signlessness, Wishlessness.
The ten Bodhisattva grounds are neither tied nor open. Because why? Because the ten stages of Bodhisattva do not have the nature of possession, there is the inherent nature of the ten stages of Bodhisattva.
Five types of eyes are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because five Eyes does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of five Eyes. The six Supernormal Powers are not forced, not open. Because why? Because six Supernormal Powers do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of six Supernormal Powers.
The Buddha’s ten powers are not tied, not open. Because why? Because ten Powers of the Buddha does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of ten Powers of the Buddha. Four things not to fear, four Analytical Knowledges, great Loving-kindness, great Compassion, great Sympathetic Joy, great Equanimity, eighteen unique Buddha qualities are not forced, are not open. Because why? Because four Fearlessnesses through to eighteen unique Buddha qualities do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of four Fearlessnesses through to eighteen unique Buddha qualities.
Dharma does not forget that it is not forced, it is not open. Because why? Because the dharma of non-forgetfulness does not have the nature of possession, there is the inherent nature of the dharma of non-forgetfulness; nature of ever-present equanimity is not binding, is not open. Because why? Because the nature of ever-present equanimity does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of nature of ever-present equanimity.
Necessary wisdom is not binding, it is not open. Because why? Because Knowledge of All does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Knowledge of All. Path-Aspect Wisdom, Knowledge of All Generals is not binding, is not open. Because why? Because Knowledge of Path-Aspects, Knowledge of All-Aspects does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Knowledge of Path-Aspects, Knowledge of All-Aspects.
All Da-la-ni dharma gateways are not forced, are not open. Because why? Because all Dharani gateways do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of all Dharani gateways. All Samma-dia dharma gateways are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because all Samadhi gateways do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of all Samadhi gateways.
The Stream-enterer fruit is not tied, is not opened. Because why? Because attainment Stream-enterer does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of attainment Stream-enterer.
Once-returner, Non-returner, Arahant fruit is not tied, is not opened. Because why? Because attainment Once-returner, Non-returner, Arahant does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of attainment Once-returner, Non-returner, Arahant.
Venerable ones Pratyekabuddhas are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because Pratyekabuddha attainment does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Pratyekabuddha attainment.
All Great Bodhisattva practices are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because all Great Bodhisattva practice does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of all Great Bodhisattva practice.
The venerable ones The ultimate enlightenment of all Buddhas is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because supreme fruit of Enlightenment of all Buddhas does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of supreme fruit of Enlightenment of all Buddhas.
Moreover Good Manifestation Devas, previous life form is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because form previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of form previous life. Feelings, thoughts, actions, and consciousness in previous life are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because feeling, perception, formations, consciousness previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of feeling, perception, formations, consciousness previous life.
The label of previous life is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because eye-base previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of eye-base previous life. The ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind of previous life are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind-bases previous life do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind-bases previous life.
The origin of previous life is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because form-base previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of form-base previous life. Sound, scent, taste, touch, the dharma of previous life is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because sound, scent, taste, tangible, and dharma-bases previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of sound, scent, taste, tangible, and dharma-bases previous life.
The eye of the previous life is not bound, is not open. Because why? Because eye-element previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of eye-element previous life. form realm, eye-consciousness-element and eye-contact together with the feelings arising from eye-contact as conditions previous life is not forced, is not open. Because why? The ear-consciousness-element and ear-contact together with the feelings arising from ear-contact as previous life conditions are not forced, is not open. Because why? Because sound-element through to the feelings arising from ear-contact as conditions previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of sound-element through to the feelings arising from ear-contact as conditions previous life.
The previous life is not binding, it is not open. Because why? Because nose-element previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of nose-element previous life. Gender, tongue-consciousness-element and tongue-contact together with the feelings arising from tongue-contact as conditions previous life is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because taste-element through to the feelings arising from tongue-contact as conditions previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of taste-element through to the feelings arising from tongue-contact as conditions previous life.
The body world of previous life is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because body-element previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of body-element previous life. tangible-element, body-consciousness-element and body-contact together with the feelings arising from body-contact as conditions previous life is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because tangible-element through to the feelings arising from body-contact as conditions previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of tangible-element through to the feelings arising from body-contact as conditions previous life.
The concept of previous life is not binding, it is not open. Because why? Because mind-element previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of mind-element previous life. Dharma world, mind-consciousness-element and mind-contact together with the feelings arising from mind-contact as previous life conditions are not forced, is not open. Because why? Because dharma-element through to the feelings arising from mind-contact as conditions previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of dharma-element through to the feelings arising from mind-contact as conditions previous life.
The realm of previous life is not bound, is not open. Because why? Because earth-element previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of earth-element previous life. Because actions, consciousness through to aging-and-death, sorrow-lamentation-suffering-dejection-distress previous life do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of formations through to aging-and-death, sorrow-lamentation-suffering-dejection-distress previous life.
Perfection of Generosity previous life is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because Perfection of Generosity previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Perfection of Generosity previous life. Pure Precepts, Patient Endurance, Diligent Effort, Meditative Concentration, Perfection of Wisdom previous life is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because Pure Precepts through to Perfection of Wisdom previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Pure Precepts through to Perfection of Wisdom previous life.
Dharma not inside this previous life is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because internal emptiness previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of internal emptiness previous life. Dharma not external, emptiness of both internal and external, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, emptiness of conditioned phenomena, emptiness of unconditioned phenomena, emptiness of finality, limitless emptiness, emptiness of dispersion, unchanging emptiness, emptiness of original nature, emptiness of individual characteristics, emptiness of shared characteristics, emptiness of all phenomena, emptiness of non-apprehensibility, emptiness of non-nature, emptiness of self-nature, emptiness of non-nature-self-nature previous life is not binding, is not open. Because why? Because external emptiness through to emptiness of non-nature-self-nature previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of external emptiness through to emptiness of non-nature-self-nature previous life.
Truth like previous life is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because true suchness previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of true suchness previous life. Dharma gender, dharma-nature, nature of non-falsity, nature of non-alteration, nature of equality, nature dissociated from birth, dharma-fixity, dharma-abiding, reality-limit, realm of space, inconceivable realm previous life is not binding, is not open. Because why? Because dharma-realm through to the inconceivable realm previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of dharma-realm through to the inconceivable realm previous life.

Because four Niems abided in previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of four Niems abided in previous life. Four True Stages, four Bases of Supernatural Power, five Spiritual Faculties, five Powers, seven Factors of Enlightenment, eight-fold Noble Path previous life is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because four Right Efforts through to eight-fold Noble Path previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of four Right Efforts through to eight-fold Noble Path previous life.

The ten Bodhisattva previous lives are not bound, not open. Because why? Because the ten levels of Bodhisattva previous life do not have the nature of possession, there is the inherent nature of the ten levels of Bodhisattva previous life.
Five types of eyes in previous life are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because five Eyes previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of five Eyes previous life. The six Supernormal Powers of previous life are not forced, not open. Because why? Because six Supernormal Powers previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of six Supernormal Powers previous life.
The ten forces of Buddha’s previous life are not binding, not open. Because why? Because ten Powers of the Buddha previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of ten Powers of the Buddha previous life. The nature of always letting go of previous life is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because the nature of ever-present equanimity previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of nature of ever-present equanimity previous life.
Wisdom necessarily previous life is not bound, is not open. Because why? Because Knowledge of All previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Knowledge of All previous life. Path-Aspect Wisdom, Knowledge of All Generals of previous life is not binding, is not open. Because why? Because Knowledge of Path-Aspects, Knowledge of All-Aspects previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Knowledge of Path-Aspects, Knowledge of All-Aspects previous life.
All dharma gateways of Da-la-ni previous life are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because all Dharani gateways previous life do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of all Dharani gateways previous life. All dharma gateways of Samadhi in previous life are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because all Samadhi gateways previous life do not have possession, there is the inherent nature of all Samadhi gateways previous life.
The fruit Stream-enterer previous life is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because attainment Stream-enterer previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of attainment Stream-enterer previous life. The fruit of Once-returner, Non-returner, Arahant previous life is not tied, is not opened. Because why? Because attainment Once-returner, Non-returner, Arahant previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of attainment Once-returner, Non-returner, Arahant previous life.
Fruit venerable ones Pratyekabuddhas previous life is not tied, is not open. Because why? Because Pratyekabuddha attainment previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of Pratyekabuddha attainment previous life.
All Great Bodhisattva practices in previous life are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because all Great Bodhisattva practice previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of all Great Bodhisattva practice previous life.
The venerable ones of the highest enlightenment of all Buddhas previous life are not tied, are not open. Because why? Because supreme fruit of Enlightenment of all Buddhas previous life does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of supreme fruit of Enlightenment of all Buddhas previous life.
Moreover Good Manifestation Devas, the following life form is not forced, is not open. Because why? Because the following life form does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of the following life form. Feelings, thoughts, actions, and consciousness in the next life are not bound or open. Because why? Because feeling, perception, formations, conscious life later does not have the nature of possession, there is the inherent nature of feeling, perception, formations, conscious life later.
The label of the next life is not tied, it is not open. Because why? Because eye-base life later does not have the nature of possession, there is the inherent nature of eye-base life later. The ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind of the next life are not bound, not open. Because why? Because ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind-bases life later does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind-bases life later.
The origin of the next life is not tied, it is not open. Because why? Because form-base life later does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of form-base life later. Sound, scent, taste, touch, the dharma of the next life is not tied, is not opened. Because why? Because sound, scent, taste, tangible, and dharma-bases life sau does not have possession, there is the inherent nature of sound, scent, taste, tangible, and dharma-bases life sau.
The eye of the next life is not bound, it is not open. Because why? Because eye-element life later does not have the nature of possession, there is the inherent nature of eye-element life later. form-element, eye-consciousness-element and eye-contact together with the feelings arising from eye-contact as the following life conditions are not tied, is not open. Because why? Because form precept through to the life due to eye-contact causes arising as conditions life later does not have the nature of possession, there is the inherent nature of form precept through to the life due to eye-contact causing arising as conditions life later.
